Need 4- I am a broke, dumb hillbillly too! First, second and third hand knowledge tells me that you won't be the first broke, dumb hillbilly to show up at the ER and need help and direction. GO! Worst they can do is say they can't help or refer you - PLEASE GO!!!! Hugs to you my hillbilly brother! When you are recovering, and I remain faithful in that hope for you, we are going to trade hillbilly stories till we sound like a couple of duellin' banjoes! Now, please go! Hugs, J

Here's seven of them in your area for you to call! They all have one thing in common regardless of price or structure. They won't remove your desire to drink. They're going to tell you the same thing you hear here for free. It doesn't matter what you're told though, if your broke dumb hillbilly ass refuses to listen and follow a path that's been cleared for you to follow.

Not sure of the point the previous poster wants to make, but I think the consensus is - good idea. Go. Start healing today.

I know the Salvation Army has an excellent reputation
for both de tox and rehabs. They are free.
The De Tox is 3or 4 days
The rehabs give you a job + room and board.

I doubt they do pedicures

Need4change: your time here has not been a waste of time! SR has been the best thing that has happened to me this year. Please come back here and talk to us again.

And for goodness sakes: if you are a farmer and have animals it is not strange that you might have an animal in your house? How is that any different from having a dog in your bed?

Don't give up on us: we won't give up on you!!!!!

Hi,

I am with the TAZ on this...

Before you drink you should seek out the support systems that encourage you not to drink... Then you need to say and MEAN you are not going to drink NO MATTER what happens...You have got to be willing to do this in order to acheive sobriety...

God is not punishing you, you are punishing yourself...

Please keep trying, you can do this...:comfort

Hi Need4change,

The name of your thread, "it was fun while it lasted.", was it really fun?

Just remember you don't have to get drunk anymore and you are not alone...:comfort

Oh so very true!!!!! We all did it, I punished myself for years and blamed it on everyone and everything, it was not until I became honest with myself that I was able to begin to take the actions needed to get and stay sober.

Need4- I totally understand about your life...I do...I was a drunk hillbilly just a few short months ago...now I am a sober hillbilly:mock and I love it! I am not concerned at all about Daisy (I am assuming it was her ) coming visiting in the house. My kids once brought their mini pony into the basement through the bilco doors and I didn't even notice until I heard them laughing - and I was sober at the time! It's what us hillbilly/country folk do! So, don't let Daisy get ya down! Oh oh, kid crying, will be back in a few minutes! Hugs, J

Nope - not about to give up on you. A suggestion, though, would be to get rid of the booze next time while your resolve is strong. That's a huge temptation right there.
Never give up trying, Need4.
