No medicine cabinets for me

Hi all. And happy Thanksgiving.

I had a cool experience today. We went to my brothers for Thanksgiving. It was okay. Not great but not terrible either. This is my first clean and sober Thanksgiving in a LONG time.

On the way home I told my husband that I had not looked in their medicine cabinets. That may sound funny to yall, but it is HUGE to me. I looked in everyone's medicine cabinets for YEARS! And I took meds out of them alot.

Today, it did not even cross my mind. I think this is what a new freedom and a new happiness means.

The promises are coming true in my life and they are there for all of you too.

OMG Tanya, thank you for that! I could have written that post. I did the same thing. I was so bad at one point I used to go to open houses for sale and look in their medicine cabinets too.

I'll admit, I'm not too far into recovery and I'm tempted sometimes; I've even peeked, but I haven't taken anything (except a Pepto, lol)

I thought I was the only one out there that did that, so thank you again for making me feel not so alone.
