Please read - I need your help ...
MODS AND ADMIN -
I apologize for this being the only place I can think of to post this - I'm too upset to figure another place. I'm not in 'should/would/could/ought' mode mentally ....================================================== =====
It's been a bad day... something is wrong with Beloved.
She's throwing up, listless ... I'm scared my kitty is gonna be dead when I get home from work.
Checked all the houseplants - everything is okay- nothing chewed or anythng like that. The worst thing I can find is soapy water left in a pot I didn't wash in the kitchen - she coulda drank that.
She's throwing up - just stomach fluid - nothing *in* it.
Ths is an indoor cat; she never gets outside.
Her skin isn't cold - that's GOOD - that's a sign of poisioning. (cold skin)
No puncture wounds - she aparently didn't fall off something and stab herself.
All her joints are moving without grinding, no 'new' joints in any appendages, no lumps in her spine - no bulges in her belly ....no heat sopts anywhere ... no cold spots either.
Her nose isn't hot or cold. her ears are a good temp - a little less than Poppy but that's normal - Poppy's ears are always a bit warmer than Beloved's.
But she's just laying there.
(Poppy - for thse who don't know - is Beloved's litter mate)
I actually held her and cried this afternoon.
I know it's God's call - but ... man, I sure don't FEEL up to losing a pet like her.
All I could think to do was give her up to the God of my understanding, and ask for the wisdom to accept the Will of the Infinite.
I went completely crazy when Mischiff died.
(My other cat of 9 1/2 years - also a manx)
I don't think I'll do that this time - I've got the Fellowship and all that ...
Please don't even say it - there's no $$$ for a vet - and no vet in butte is any good.
I wish I was kidding about that. But I'm not. I would actually load both my horses into whatever trailer I could find - and drive them almost 200 miles to the nearest GOOD equine vet. There is no money for that kind of thing any more.
but please -
pray for my kitty.
please pray for my Beloved.
Thanks -
deb

RJS - my OWN prayers that you're right.
This little white being ... is a central light ... in my recovery life.
Hence her name - my Beloved.
I'm pretty scared.

Prayers and also a little advise if you don't mind....
Go to a health food store and find something called "tissue salts" find the one called "bioplasma" give her two tablets every 30 minutes. Tissue salts are very gentle I discovered them when my son was a baby. I did not like giving him over the counter meds like Tylenol. They are a homeopathic. I keep a supply of all the tissue salts. I give them to my animals any time they seem to feel bad. There are 12 tissue salts, the bioplasma is a combination of all of them. Another good thing about tissue salts is that they do not cost very much. Most stores that sell tissue salts will have a free brochure explaining how they work be sure and ask for one if you decide to try them.

this was Beloved when she came to me ... almost ...seven months ago....
Splendra - thank you for the advice - I'll try to find some in the morning - after I go check on her, of course ... there's a health food store in the mall here that has homeopathic stuff.
See? she looks like the bunnies in my signature... just with kitty ears.
I'm trying hard to just trust The Infinite ... but I'm so scared, too.

She's a beauty. I don't pray, but Beloved will be in my thoughts. I remember how desperately painful it was when our boys were sick.
Give her as much love as you can, and remember how happy she's made you.

thanks y'all. I'm a strong STRONG believer in the Power of Prayer. And this - is one of the strongest 'circles' I've ever experienced.
Think of it .. humans from around the world ... praying for my little Beloved.
How beautiful IS that, anyhow?
thank you !

Barb, my Toby is an older cat but sometimes has periods like this although his vomiting usually contains food he has eaten as well.
I'm guessing that it was the soapy water, and that will pass with time.
When Toby gets like that, I put down milk which he likes that seems to calm his tummy and also gives him nutrition when he won't eat his other food. Maybe try some milk and see how that works. Also, lots of water, especially when his tummy is upset. Like us, cats get dehydrated.
I don't know if you feed your cat hard or soft food, but if hard then maybe try some soft food for a couple of days, or mix it with the hard with more soft than hard. He may like the soft and may turn his nose up at hard food, but it's worth a try.
Also, give him his own dish of food, separate from any other cat, and see if that helps. Sometimes sharing a food dish can leave one cat dismayed.
Sending "healing kitty prayers" because so far that's helped my Toby. Not long ago his thyroid count was so high the vet thought his medication was no longer working, but I persevered and gave him extra medication (which didn't affect him adversely) and about a week ago took him for his checkup and his thyroid count was better than it's been in years and years.
I too will be not good when Toby's day comes, but until then lots of love and extra care seems to be helping.
Hugs
