Going on 2...

So, I was looking for some help with step 2 and saw there were a lot of people on this forum and decided to join :-) ... I am currently in treatment and trying to do my step work. Only a 90 day residential program but it's working! this is my struggle. The last word "Sanity" ... I can't see a higher power restoring sanity. I just haven't seen it yet so I don't know what to do..

Any suggestions on papers I could do or anything along those lines?

And looking for some good supports... Even mail wise would be good. :-)

Step 2 for the most part is a process. It says "Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity". For me, my Higher Power at first was my AA group because they were sober and I, of course, wasn't. They had something which I didn't have--and each person had their own conception of a Higher Power--developed personally to them which seemed to help keep them sober--One Day at a Time.

Hi and welcome . I don't go to AA or do the steps but others here certainly do and will surely chime in soon.

Hi PJ,

Welcome

Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

I had a hard time believing anything could restore me to sanity, especially since I couldn't remember a time where I felt sane. My suggestion is to just keep an open mind and heart and have the willingness to believe. Find some concept of a Higher Power (sometimes it's God for me, but more often it's nature), and ask for help. Keep it simple. 'Please God, help me.' will suffice.

Good to see you - well done on the treatment
