Hi

I've just joined coz my partner TrustNO174 asked me to join with her.
I personally have never drunk alcohol in my life (dispite my father repeated attempts to try to force me to as a child) so I feel a lil out of place here...but I would go to the ends of the universe and back to help or support her so if I can do that by being here or learn how to support her better here then I do it without question.

I don't know if I'm ment to stick to certain areas or stay out of certain areas seeing as I'm not alcoholic. I don't want to do the wrong thing or upset anyone.
Maybe someone could kinda point me in the rite direction..or even tell me if I'm ok to be here..?

Hi Cariad's Angel!

I'm pretty new too, but I think you are welcome to post anywhere.

There is a 'Friends and Family' section here:
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/family-friends/
You may find it helpful to talk to people who are in a similar position to you.

Hope you find it helpful to read through some posts. I think its great that you want to learn how best to help - I'm sure that you'll learn lots here, and get some understanding of alcoholism.

Hi Cariad's Angel, :Dance7:

Welcome! Supporting your Partner is wonderful. It sounds like you know what it is like to be a child in the home where a parent might abuse alcohol. My grandmother lived with us after my grandfather died after a surgery. They both were alcoholic & grandma had a hard battle with it after being widowed too young.

Interesting enough, she quit drinking on her own the year I graduated from highschool.

We will be more than glad to give you support you as you support Trust. :ghug2
