So I am on my way home from work early this morning.I stop at my friends ( known him for 25 years.) grocery store to get gasoline. I go in and get a 12 pack.Go up to the counter and tell my friend I wanted $30 on pump 2. I gave him the 12 pack and asked him to put it back for me. He said " you don't want it?" I told my friend "I do want it but I am not getting it".

May not seem like much but I wanted to prove to myself I can do this. I feel like that was a big step for me.

Don't get me wrong I know I cannot do this by myself and I am not gonna try to. I will be seeking help outside this forum. But I gotta tell ya it felt really good to do that.

Hello Spidey and welcome.Best wishes with your recovery and seeking help.Checking in here i have found to be a big help and gives me inspiration.Your intro most of us can relate to and helps keep me on the straight and narrow,well done for not buying the beer.

So this morning I said this was gonna be a good day for me. I was able to not buy alcohol on the way home. So,I get home from work get a shower. I made breakfast for me and my wife. Spent a few hours with her before she went off to work.

I did some email corresponding with a few members from this board who emailed me after my first post. ( I gotta tell ya. It is nice to have someone to talk to that has either been were I am or is currently were I am). Seems to really give me focus and clears my mind a good bit.

Watched ESPN a little bit and got a solid 8 hours sleep. I am getting ready to leave for work again,but I felt the need to check in with the board and read a few post from the other members.

I wish everyone on here well with their journey. I hope after a few more days and post I can jump in and contribute with support for new members as they join up. As of right now I am not sure I have earned that right.
