Alcoholic Adventures in Coffeemaking!

My last post was from a very "down" place, so I thought I'd share something humorous this morning.....

6:45 am: Woke up, went into the kitchen to make my usual pot of coffee. Poured grounds into filter, placed filter in basket, filled back of coffee machine with water. Except... it was NOT water. Had grabbed a gallon of milk instead. Fortunately, noticed that "water" filtering into pot was very creamy colored!

6:46 am: Unplugged coffee pot, removed basket and carafe, emptied milk into sink.

6:47 am: Reassembled coffee pot. Realized I had forgotten to basket of grounds back in place, but at least hadn't hit "start" yet!

6:47:30 am: Put basket of grounds back in place. Hit start. Sat on kitchen floor to play with pet rabbit, Bella.

6:54 am: Stood up, walked to counter and selected coffee mug from cupboard. Proceded to coffee pot, and discovered no coffee had brewed, as I had neglected to plug coffee pot back in!!!

6:54:30 am: Burst into uncontrolled laughter, scaring rabbit and husband. (Note: sure beats bursting into uncontrolled tears, which could just as easily have happened!)

6:55 am: Plugged coffee pot in.

7:01 am: SWEET SUCCESS!!!!! Coffee in hand, I am ready to face this day!!!!

Ahhhh, the sweet life of Post Acute Withdrawal, LOL!!! Makes me want to put together a PAW Cookbook (Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe - Step One: Call Fire Department, have on standby. Step Two: Drop five pound bag of flour on floor with enough force to burst seams and coat entire kitchen. Step Three: Laugh hysterically for ten minutes (may substitute crying or swearing)....

OH! I so relate !

I put a whole roast dinner in the oven at 10am, guests due 12 midday, guests arrived , dinner not cooked , forgot to turn on the oven!

You would have thought i would notice !

I was 5 months sober, and thank God the guests were fellow AA members, and could see the funny side LOL

Coffee, oh yes, I have salted my coffee, thought it was sugar!!!! Nasty!!!!!

Put coffee in with no filter........ a bit gritty..... but still tasty once I fished the majority of the grounds out with a spoon!!!!

Early sobriety can be funny as long as you can laugh at your self before you cry!!!!

I seem to always locate them on my forehead!!!!

We will not discuss the times working around the house how I would have 2-3 open cans of beer going at the same time and then take a big slug out of the one I was using as an ash tray!!!
