A journal.
Is it ok to keep a journal of what is going on in my life on this forum? I'll try to update every day.
Went to the shop this morning to get the 'papers'. Exchanged a knowing glance with the shopkepper who knows exactly what I am. Paid for the poison, and the look in his eyes is a knowing one and still hurts every time even though he doesn't know I'm in pain when I do this.
Passed a neighbour, trying to hide the bottle behing a newspaper.
Even the neighnours know.
Day 1 not a good start.

You, however, have some great things to do in life, but you have this big bully holding you back. Sometimes we just have to face the bully down, and say NO!!, not this time...

Is this going to be a daily update about your drinking or about your recovery??
Just wondering...the former seems a bit pointless or what? I mean, we all know where it ends...jails, institutions or death...but I guess it might help someone...wish you'd help yourself rather...
Good luck

RK I am not sure about the journal deal, but we are here to help support you if you are trying to get sober. Just stay sober today, do not even think about tomorrow, we only have control over today.
You know you are not alone don't you? There are millions of us, some of us still out there suffering, others are here, hundreds of thousands of us meet in rooms every day sharing our experience, strength and hope with each other, our soul purpose is to stay sober today and help other alcoholics get and stay sober.
There is a solution to be found in those healing rooms, you just need to be willing to go to any length to get it.

Nothing wrong keeping a journal RK. i am doing the same in a book so I can give it to my 2 yr old son when he grows up if he has the same problem. Perhaps seeing that his old man pulled it off might help him if the need arises.
You have to be careful though that it doesnt just become a catalogue of failures. Nothing wrong with admitting you drank but perhaps you should note what led to it, how you felt about it afterwards and what you could do differently next time to avoid it. Then your journal will become a source of advice and inspiration for you and others.
All the best
