First week of sobriety
Hey wow congrats on a week. No small feat for alcoholics of our variety. Every day is a miracle. When I came in, people told me to make AA meetings, get a sponsor, and work steps. My entire life has changed because of it. The journey of long term sobriety is unlike anything I've ever embarked on.
Congrats on that first week, physically it is the toughest, the mental battle is what always used to bite me in the ass!!!! AA is what saved my ass, I found that I could get sober alone, but I had no idea how to stay sober alone!

Congratulations Fitz!!! Hopeful all your physical withdrawals have disappeared. Keep on keeping on!
For me it was very important to combat any cravings I had head on, I wrote a list of the pros and cons associated with drinking. As you can imagine the con list was way longer. I kept it in my pocket so I could read it when ever a craving hit me. It proved to be very useful to me and I find I hardly ever deal with cravings anymore.
Keep on posting and remember you can do this, you have the power...tap into it and your life will transform!

It gets easier, with a few hicups now and then. Just gotta' stick it out and not drink.
I'm on day 10 since my last drink. I feel great! I'm happy and I don't seem to get pissed off at stupid things (as much). My wife is very happy with my new attitude about not drinking. We're talking and things are going in the right direction. There's hope for me yet.
