Made it my first 24 hours

Well I made it my first 24 hours plus a few more. I know thats not the hardest part of my struggle. I got to keep telling myself one day at a time.

If thinking of it a day at a time gets to be to much, break it down even more. I know when I was in heavy detox I couldnt think 24 hours ahead, I took it one hour at a time. Keep it up you can do it!

Look up some meeting times! NA/AA keep busy, hot showers. We can beat this!

It all starts with the first day,
Then there's the first week
Then there's the first month
Then there's the first year...
There's a lot of firsts here, one day at a time.

Hi willI,

Congrats on 1 day! Now it is day 2 and it can get harder, but if you always remember that it can get easier it just might help pull you through and if you do that you will feel really great.

Congratulations! The first 24 was the worst for me (although that was only last Tuesday).

You can do it!

Just keep in mind that this is the best and most important thing you can possibly do!

Call the AA number in the phone book if you need to. That's why they're there!

Hang on tight.

Thank you very much for your support, and yes I'[ve been thinking on aa but in the town where i live it is so small that i'd have to drive 50 miles to the meetings. I've been talking with some friends and family that have been where I am now and thatt seems to be helping some.
