Not Sure If Im Meant To Be Here
i signed up not really reading much about it, but is this forum solely for people who are already sober?
if so can anyone point me in the direction of a forum for people still in the middle of it all?
Thanks,
Moose x

Max, I was not sober....
...when I stumbled upon (almost literally!) this place. After learning to navigate it in my insane state, I read many posts before signing up and trying to be part of it. It took me weeks to stop drinking but I owe my sobriety to this site and the attitudes presented here. It's my cyber AA meeting, since I do not go to the live ones at this time. I was NEVER judged or made to feel unwelcome, even though I was still drinking and had some setbacks. I was allowed to be honest & it meant so much to me, otherwise I would've just left. There are many on here who still use/drink and are trying to find their way. It's been invaluable to me - so much wisdom and humor. PLEASE stay with it.
Hi Max,
You might try to read some of the posts from a few who have been here awhile.
If you click on their screenname there is an option to read that person's posts.
It's a good way to see the progression of the disease and how recovery works.

Hey everyone,
I am totally new to this site as of today. I am hoping that this is the answer for me, but I am not sure about the 12-step approach. (I joined OA years ago so I do have some experience.)
Anyway, I would love to meet some friends here. I need to get sober, but not go back to my overeating days in the process. It seems like I move from one obsession to the other...
I hope all of you are well, and I look forward to getting to know some of you.
Thanks for reading this!!!

Hi Max and Pink,
I was still drinking when I first came here too...this board and other's stories helped me to become willing to admit that I was without hope and willing to try anything to get sober.
Keep posting!

I personally wish I could turn this problem off like a light switch and never think about it again, it just doesn't work that way.
Take it a day at a time. Thats what I am trying to do!
Forward we go...side by side-Rest In Peace

Welcome Max,i came on here the day i decided enough is enough.Useless with computers, can just about use emails and as for forums-it's a new world to me.
I didn't know what to expect and was grateful for every reply to my introduction.
I thought i would stop drinking but would not make a big song and dance about it,and in my personal life have hardly said anything to anyone. But SR has been a massive help to me,especially as i don't attend AA or have any outside help. The beauty of SR is that on here you have everything, those sober for donkeys years and those still in the depths of hell, those who are crying for help and those to offer sympathy and advice.Best wishes

hi max - when I found SR - I was still cloudy headed from detox - adrenaline was waked out ... I could barely post because the machine would time out from em correcting typos.

max this is the right forum for you! please stick around! if sobriety peeks you're interest, kick back and hang out a while. please tell us whats been going on (only if you'd like of course). for me personally, i found this site when i left my recovery house (i had 8 months sober). i now have 20 months of sobriety so ive been on this site for a year. holy crap!
When I came here I was on the brink of death, literally, I was so tired of being wasted. We are all at some point in recovery...from the very first second we admit our problem and need to stop to the old timers with years under their belts. SR is for everyone and we are here to support each other.
Welcome
