Oh...is it Good Friday already? Son of a gun! I just decided on a Halloween outfit, didn't do my Christmas shopping yet, and now I have to get out the Easter bonnet!

My first (and, hopefully last) experience with an oral surgeon went well. I was given a Valium an hour before WOO-HOO! and put under with an iv anesthetic...woke up "floating" on the ceiling, and "came down" about an hour later. No after effects other than the roof of my mouth was a bit sore (probably from whatever implement they use to hold the mouth open during the operation). The procedure was at
3:30pm, and I was eating regular food at 5:00pm. Amazing!
My roommate and I are still having a difference of opinion regarding the room temp...it was 80 degrees in here yesterday, and she was in bed with two blankets, a sweater, and a babushka on her head! She fell getting back in bed this morning...and, they had to take an x-ray of her ankle...don't know if it's broken or just a bad sprain. Am I destined to room with "fall risks"?
Oh, I forgot to mention, she doesn't go to the dining foom for meals...sits in the room eating her supply of nuts, cereals, and grains. Could it be I am rooming with Rocky the Squirrel?

Babushka lol. I thought you were Italian Rae? My mother used to say babushka all the time... and gotchies. But you probably wouldn't want those on your head.
If you're going to be a pumpkin can I make you into a really big pie after Halloween ?

Someone here started a nasty rumor that it's my Birthday, and the Balloon Fairy tied balloons to my wheelchair! Niece arrived with lovely mums, Halloween cookies, and a flameless candle that is making the room smell lovely. One of the aides, whose Birthday is tomorrow (she's also leaving for a job closer to home) gave me three Italian pastries and a card with $15. in it (I wish she hadn't done that).
I don't really like to celebrate Birthdays anymore...but, I guess it's OK, since I'm still about 35 mentally. Only problem is some old lady moved into my body when I wasn't looking!

The Birthday was nice...but, after you've done 75, one more or less is pretty much Ho-Hum. My sister happened to have a very pretty Lenox votive candle holder still in the box...never been used...so, I was able to give a little something to the aide.
My roommate's x-rays came back negative, so it's probably just swollen from spraining; but she's telling everyone it's broken, and she's staying in bed, chomping away at those nuts! She's the whiney, long-suffering kind, and she's milking this for all it's worth...pulling the call light every 1/2 hour or so for attention. :crz We share a room, but we really don't have much in common.
I enjoyed the pastries, k...and, what made you think I was Italian, gypsy? Austrian on Mom's side, Scottish on Dad's, although Stepfather was Italian. The family is a regular League of Nations with Jewish cousins, since Mom's sister married one...I was lucky to have the best of all worlds growing up.

My daughter is on her way down to visit...I'm so excited...I haven't seen her in 5 - 6 months! We're going to order food brought in...maybe Italian...YUM!
My regular aide, Elsa, came back after being out for a week. First she was sick, then she was moving, then she wrenched her back while moving. I was getting really nervous, wondering if she was ever coming back!!! It happens that her birthday was on October 2nd...lots of Librans working here!
