We DO get better!!!
Just a short story I'd like to share this morning.
There is a 7-11 that starts selling beer at 6 am, near a nice lake in my area. I called it my "safety" store. If I didn't have enough vodka to get me through the nite and to lunch time the next day, I would HAVE to buy a 12-pack, just to hold off the shakes and sweats. I would wait in that parking lot(shaking) and then at 6 am, I would get that beer, while everyone else would be buying coffee....Why can't I be like them????? Total insanity-huh- well it was embarassing, and I let on to the clerk that I was going fishing and I was put in charge of buying beer....Yea that's a good story.... This went on for years, boy I did alot of "fishing" lol.
Well I stopped by that 7-11 this morning for the first time in over a year & I bought a coffee, yes a COFFEE!!!! The clerk asked "not fishing today?"
I replied...NO... I don't "fish" anymore........ IT FELT GOOD!!!!!

Recovery is awesome isn't it!!!!
My wife asked me a few days ago "Martin if a doctor told you that you only had 3 months to live would you start drinking again?"
It shocked her when with out hesatation I said no! Why spend my last months on earth living in a fog or blackout? I am in love with sobriety, reality rocks most of the time when one is sober!!!
