How do you get people to respond to your threads?

Hi Sarah,
I am very new to recovery and the people on this board were very helpful in pointing me in the right direction. I felt exactly the same way as you - in that I didn't want to quit because I thought I would have no fun. But if you think really hard then you'll realise that only a tiny fraction of the time is fun. The rest is spent feeling depressed, tired, in-capable and sick. Get yourself to an AA meeting. I went to my first one last night and it really helped. You'll find lots of people who feel exactly the same way you do and who can help you with suggestions on how to stay sober one day at a time. Good luck xxx

What grade are you in Sarah ? Just kidding. Just post and people will respond like Pilgrim said depending on the time of day there are more or less people around. I didn't see your other thread but I'll look for it.

Hmmmmn...my guess is high school wasn't much fun for you. OK...I'm off to look for your other thread. I don't usually ignore anyone...but, it's tough to try to respond to every thread.

Also its not just here..in IOP it gets kind of childesh...wait let me back track...I am not sure if this board is like highschool...hmm I guess you probably were frustrated..when you wrote this post.
I feel everywhere you go there is things to look out for. Like I was gonna say in my IOP people start telling all these war stories and start acting like know it alls.
When I was in DETOX people where convinced that since they never heard of my opiate. (ULTRAM/TRAMADOL) that the Withdraw was nothing compared to snorting OXY's or BAnging heroin. But I guess this is life wheather or not we in recovery. People are always gonna be ....people...

Hi Sarah,
Welcome! Taking things personally is what a lot of us with addiction issues do. That being said, I too felt sorta "out of it" on this board at times..and when I sat back to see why I felt that way, well, it was all my own doing.
There have been a large influx of newcomers lately, and I find it difficult at times to respond to all the threads, and then too I feel that maybe I don't have anything constructive to say..all my own issues for sure. Please don't take it personally. I hope that you keep posting..
Big hugs,
Karen

Hi Sarah,
Welcome to SR. I'm very new to here to but I try to talk toeveryone as well. It helps me in my program. I hope you come back for some hometown chit chat. I've been here all three days of my sobriety and try to just talk to people. It helps
