Thanks guys!! I went to the meeting. It was a closed meeting for AA and Al-Anon. Everyone seemed really nice! I didn't talk much because I felt shy but I will be going to more meetings. I appreciate the support here and I'm so happy I finally went. I wouldn't have done it without everyone backing me up, so thank you again!!
congrats!
It's funny how we feel nervous about going to meetings early in our recovery. I was pretty nervous the first few times! However, you soon realize that the people you meet and talk to at the meetings are exactly like you. For the most part, they are like family. Even if you only see them for one hour a week, they speak your language and they have walked in your shoes. The more meetings you go to the more comfortable you will feel. Before you know it you will be the person who welcomes the newcomer. Good luck to you, and keep up the good work!!!
xX, go girl...
its nice to see some action... as intentions can, and do kill!
now, the next one will be easier, and the next and next...

RZ is right B2B, we can talk all we want but its actions that count, you should be proud of yourself.
I never did 90 in 90 myself
I did stick at it tho, I have been going for about 4 months now and have a home group where I make the drinks.
I am 70 days sober too, I dont know if you remember but I couldnt get passed 2 weeks. The AA thing can still seem weird at times but it seems to be working and they are a nice bunch of people and I enjoy human contact after isolating so long.
I still have to force myself to go to the meetings though!

B2B hon you are a very nice looking young lady...... I am now looking into your future.......... what do I see? What I see is you continuing to go to meetings and suddenly that pic of a pretty young sad lady to suddenly become a beautiful young woman with a smile on her face.
Action is what it takes to not only stay sober, but to enjoy a happy sobriety, to find peace with yourself and the world. You have initiated the action, you have taken that first BIG step towards peace and serenity, all the rest of the steps you take will be smaller in comparison to the one you just took, but they will be part of the most freeing joyous journeys you will ever take, the journey to a life free of being enslaved by alcohol, a life of being able to live life on lifes terms sober, happy joyous & free!
Stone I have heard old timers say that the only meetings you REALLY need to go to are those that you do not want to go to.

Awesome! Having just taken the same first step a few weeks ago I understand
how hard it is to make it through those doors --- but isn't it such a relief when
you finally do? Keep going back

Hey everyone! I know that I keep saying I will go to meetings and bailing but I found a friend in town that promised me tomorrow she will come with me. This means the world to me. Honestly, I don't even feel nervous now knowing she will be there. I'm just so relieved I'll have a friend standing by me. And I put a pic up of my face because I no longer care who knows I'm an alcoholic. I am a lot of other things as well. No more Amy for now, though she'll always hold a soft spot in my heart.
