8 days - no alcohol
I can't believe it. I'm 8 days with not a drop. The thing is, I've done it going thru what has been one of the hardest times of my life.
My little mama fell last Thursday. We buried her yesterday. During those days I had the most difficult decisions to make that I've ever faced. I had no one to help me make the decisions. I finally realized (with help from God) that I had to let my mama go.
I've never experienced letting someone go like that but I did. I held my mama's hand till God took her.
I have had no desire to drink during these difficult days. I don't fully understand because I've always run to that bottle when things got tuff.
I don't know where it goes from here, but right now, I'm sober and thankful and grateful.
My little mama was 92.

Starlite, I'm so sorry for your loss. I was with my mum too when she died. I'm sure that she was glad that you were there with her.
I'm on Day 11. I've found that it is during the really tough times that we need our head to be the clearest, and somehow we are given the strength.
Take care of yourself.
Peace to you,
Cekiya

Starlight Dawn,
Beautiful user name....
I am sorry to hear of your loss...You are a tremendous power of example staying away from alcohol...Through your loss and abstinence, you have helped me to know that recovery is possible even during the trying times...
Thinking of you..

My sympathy and prayers go out
for you during this sad time.
How proud your mama must be
to see you moving into health and sobriety!
You now have a special angel.
Blessings
