Question about withdrawal

Hi all, I just wanted to ask a question about withdrawal really and wondered if anybody ever felt, it's a bit hard to explain but basically a combination of light headed and spaced out if that makes sense, when it happens I kinda feel nervous as well.

It's been 8 days since I have had a drink and I am basically ok except every so often I just get this kinda spaced out feeling, a little bit like being drunk, like I said it's hard to explain I just wondered if anybody else felt like this and it is part of withdrawal or whether it is something unrelated.

I am a bit loathed to go back to the doctor as last time I went he told me to go home and have a drink so I just thought I would ask anybody here if they experienced anything like this, before deciding what to do.

Thanks

Hi Saxony,

I think that sounds pretty normal as a feeling to go through, while your body adjusts. Hopefully it will clear up soon, otherwise you should talk to your dr - a different dr, I hope.

Congratulations on 8 days sober!

Yes I went through that too. I even had a couple of hours one day when I felt really quite drunk, it was very weird!
Sounds like your doctor is an idiot.

Hi Saxony,

It's good to see you working on your sobriety - well done on your 8 days. I experienced that spaced-out feeling, but more after I stopped taking benzos than from the booze.
You may wish to read up on PAWS (post-acute withdrawal symptoms) to gain more insight about your physical symptoms.

Way To Go on your sober time!

Yes...I did experience that zoned out feeling in early sobriety.
It passed quickly for me...hope it does for you too.

Here is a link to the info Ro mentioned

If that is as bad as it gets for you, you can wipe the sweat from your forehead!
