I'm doing okay

Hey everyone...
well, I told you guys I would come back, and here I am! My husband and I just got back from the beach. We had to get away for the weekend. I am still doing good, I am sleeping a little better each night, and I am getting my appetite back. The pain is easing, but still there, not as bad as the 3rd, 4th, and 5th day. For those of you who may not know who I am, my husband and I are the Oxy addicts...and we are now on our 15th day of being clean and sober. Oh yeah, and I'm pregnant! I haven't been to the doctor yet. I guess I am scared! No one knows about my addiction, except for you guys. I know I need to go the OBGYN, and I want to tell him so badly, so my baby can get the best possible care, but I'm scared. I don't know what to say. I think I am most scared of what he may do. I can't just up and leave my family or my job to go and get help. It's hard to even think about it. I want to get help and support. But, I don't want to have to leave my life to do that. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Be honest with your Doc.I would say brutally honest. If you can kick oxy's on your own you can tell the doc.

Don't know anything about the "oxy" addiction. Do know about being a pregnant alcoholic, and so grateful my kids don't appear to have suffered any ill effects from my drinking...oh, wait a minute...they are all adult drug addicts in varying stages of recovery. Could there be any correlation? Ya think?

Get to the doctor as soon as possible...be honest, and ask help to bring a healthy baby into this crazy, mixed up world! Blessings to you and your unborn child.

Hi there,

I was sitting here trying to imagine your predicament-and I would be scared too.My son is 18 now but I wasn't drinking when I was pregnant.

Please tell your doctor about this-get all the help you can for yourself and your baby. You are doing great to have 15 days-and I'd love to see you get through this sober.Your family deserves it.

Thinking of you,

Congrats on you and your hubby 15 days....awesome...and a baby !!

be honest with the doc..your little bub deserves that.

Not sure why the other poster pointed out the dangers of drugtaking and pregnancy...I think that's fairly much a given for any intelligent person.

Just keep doing what you're doing. Stay clean, be honest and good luck to ya.

D

Break this down into priorities...

1. See obgyn ASAP

2. Do whatever he says...no matter what.

My best to you!!

Love,

Havefaith, I'm grateful you're still clean and made it back to us.

Yes, see an ob-gyn as soon as you can. Do not delay.

I know you're frightened, but just do this, and get honest. It'll be okay.

Let us know how it's going? We care!

Hi,

There's lots of good advice here.

Once you talk to your dr and get the information you need, you will be able to move forward. If you don't talk to your dr, the fear you have will just continue throughout your pregnancy.
