(what was I doing? )
Oh yeah -
hi !

I had and still have a gooodly bit of joint pain. Inever realized how much my drinking was masking, as far s body problems were concerned. Most of it cleared up in a few months ... the rest is just yer basic arthur-eyetiss.

how'd the bike hunt go? and the shed assembly?

Hi Barb
Glad you're doing well.
Bike and shed were a non starter. Both were going to take a week or so to arrive if I ordered them. I thought I would try online, probably get a better price anyway.
Ended up buying some wood and building shelves all day for my books. Never mind, was caught out by some unexpectedly strong craving yesterday so was glad to keep occupied.

Octo octo maaaan.

Hi Mick

I think I need a good quality hybrid bicycle. I plan to use it to cycle around town but also to do some cross country cycling with my wife at the weekends. Nothing too heavy, just woodland trails and so on. Thing is I have been told a mountain bike is too hard to ride on the road over long distances while a road bike would break on rough ground. Hence a hybid.
I tried a Carrera which was a great bike but a bit on the pricey side. I also dried an Apollo which was much cheaper but felt a bit heavy. Something in between will probably be best.
I dont have very much money right now so this is a big investment for me and I want to make the right choice

Hi Stone
All well here thanks. Just took a break from work to have a workout. Been a long time. Boy am I out of shape! Things can only get better from here.
How are you getting on? Hoefully finding a way to avoid all this miserable rain. Should be sunny for the weekend though

Hey Octo, how you getting on? I know that (deceptive, for me) feeling re the cosiness of the pub...not so cosy the next day when i couldn't go to work, when it came to 12am and I was on a MISSION to get more alcohol but they were closing, shame remorse confusion etc etc

Hi all
Felt pretty rough yesterday so left work a little early and went to bed. Feel more on form again today though. Of to see Rush Hour 3 tonight which should cheer me up a bit

Hi Cathy,
I know what you mean by the cosiness of pubs. In the evening they look like the best place to be in the world. See them in the cold light of day the next morning though and they just look like dingy, smell places.

Parentrecovers - the cost is my problem. I have a habit of getting really into things and then losing interest. Dont want to spend too much on something that may just be a fad (I hope not). What type did you go for?

Barb / Stone - thanks for asking after me. All cool here and on day 19 now.

we're not sure. we just want town bikes, nothing too heavy duty needed. we're searching used bike shops in our area, and have them looking out for us for a good deal. we had bikes and they got stolen out our garage. bummer.

Hi Octoman . 19 days is awesome!!!

I like your description of pubs. I was never one to hang out in bars...but your description makes me happy for that choice.
