Smile Struggling?

It's been pretty quiet around here lately - don't know if it's the nice weather, or people are busy, but I do notice we have a few 'lurkers' and wanted to invite you (and anyone else) to share what's going on with you today.

Have you come here looking for information? Do you want to stop drinking?

My name is Rowan, and I'm an alcoholic and pill addict. I've got 19 months without a drink, and a year without any type of mood-altering pill. I never thought this could be my life - that I wouldn't have to drink or take pills, and that I could survive, that I could be HAPPY. But it is, and I am.

We hope to hear from you - this is a solid recovery community with real people who do care.

We love new members!

If you're reading and want to have some support, you can just post and say as much or as little as you like.

We do understand.

in my opinon...

the world is filled with the pain, misery and destruction of addictions...

im on this site everday, and from what i see, in the over two years i've been here...this joint hasnt had this many people hop'n in to say their sick of being sick and tired, or how can i moderate, or how can i do recovery without A.A./N.A. or any kind of recovery... and thats just in the booze/substance section... SR has many other sections... family and friends for one...

addictions of any kind can kill...

many lurkers have followed threads and posts till, that one thing clicked...

a desire to 'Want" recovery..

SR has a lot people that have been there, and done that...

kind, caring, loving and understanding people too...

all good wishes to anyone that wants it...

xxoo, rz

I was thinking the same thing as you Rusty. I thought that lately there have been a lot of new folks popping in..feel sometimes that I can't keep track to say hello.

I lurked here for awhile before I was ready.

That's a good thing, actually. We can show them recovery is possible, and that it works.

My name is Tyrone and I'm an alcoholic. I have 9 months sober, and I don't hate my life anymore. I have found (at times) peace and serenity like I never knew were possible.

Hi again mate, I was/am an alkie though I have done plenty of other stuff, it was the vodka that got me in the end.

I have been going to AA (just started about 3 months ago) and it is helping a lot, I am 30 days sober which is the longest I have been sober for years.
