I try & try but i dont seem to be able to do it ......... every day I drink I wil buy 1/2 bottle of vodka & a bottle of coke when comming home from work & Dring it on the bus home ..... I am soooooo... ashamend

Hi Lovecat,

Why don't you try taking a different route home? Or ride your bike instead of taking the bus? What worked for me was changing routines and my daily patterns. I would arrange to be doing things differently and it really helped.

get some sppt....ride with someone, who can distract you...or as annna said, find another way home..one that won't allow you the opportunity to drink...

It's awfully hard to give up drinking on your own. Do you have someone that you can confide in? Have you seen a doctor about your drinking?

Hi Lovecat, dont be ashamed-get some help and support. Coming here is a great first step in that. How about rehab and/or AA or some other form of support?

When newly sober, cravings are intense to the point of discomfort. As others have suggested try to stay away from people , places and things, that produce these strong cravings...

When you get up in the morning, tell yourself you will not drink today...Ask your higher power for help. Keep posting here.
