69 days and counting.......
Thanks Rowan.
I've gotta say, this weekend was particularly difficult for me. And not for any real reason either. I just found myself trying to convince myself that it would be ok to take a little drink.
like friday night, after my DUI school meeting I missed my bus and there wasn't another one for an hour and the bus stop was right next to a liquor store. I found myself telling myself that it wouldn't be that bad if I went and got a 1/2 pint of jack while I waited for the bus, I went as far as thinking about getting breath mints as well. Then, I was like, WTF are you thinking man? And I went to starbucks and got a mocha and chilled there till the bus got there.
Again on saturday afternoon after riding my bike in the woods by where I live. I got home and nobody was there but when I went into the freezer to get some ice for my ice water I saw my roommates bottle of Sky and was VERY tempted to take a little sip. But I didn't. I went swimming instead. Later that night my roommate was making cockatails and actually came out and said "I just made a new cocktail and you've got to try it" I replied " I declined. She knows that I'm trying not to drink but she was buzzed and forgot I guess. So I went up to my room and closed the door and read for a while.
Sunday evening, after coming home from my PT job, both of my roommates were out in the back yard drinking wine and smoking pot. Which sucks because I didn't really want to again sit in my room watching TV alone just me and my dog but I did.
I know I should find a new place to live but right now I can't. It's close to both of my jobs (which is good because I ride my bike and take the bus) and it's about all I can afford right now. So I'm just plugging away.

Boredom=danger for me. Luckily, I am a world-class piddler and can entertain myself with trivial stuff I have laying around. Now may be a good time to start a hobby or delve into a subject you've been wanting to explore. Take a walk, ride a bike, start a garden, just don't let yourself set idle and wish for a drink.
Welcome and best of luck on your new journey. You're gonna like being free.
