Relapse

Well I haven't been on this forum since January and since that time have managed to stay dry for several weeks at a time, only to relapse. I managed to stay dry for 10 weeks last time until the end of June when I slipped (no fell actually) off the wagon again. I'm beginning to recognize the signs though and hope to avoid a relapse this time.

"He who forgets to remember is doomed to repeat." During the past six months, since you last posted in January, have you tried AA meetings, getting a sponsor, working the steps, establishing a program of recovery that would work for you? If not, maybe it's time.

Follow directions.

"The program works for us long before we understand it." - Basic Text of NA

The simple suggestions of the program work very well...it is us who make it difficult by insisting on doing things our way. When we get honest with ourselves we can see that our way didn't work too well in the past. When the pain gets greater than the pleasure...we do things differently. It just may be time to give meetings, step work and sponsorship a try.

I'm glad you did not die while you were
drinking, So many do..as you know.

What is your plan this time?

You too can find health and sobriety.
