I didn't experience that.

Did you talk to your dr before you stopped drinking? It's really a good idea to get checked out.

Alcohol withdrawal CAN cause panic attacks which lead to Shortness of breath. Do you feel panicky or uneasy when you are having shortness of breath?

Alcohol withdrawal can cause DEATH.

I guarantee you that you'll have shortness of breath in that case.

In all seriousness, withdrawals from alcohol can cause every poor health symptom you can think of. A damaged heart can cause shortness of breath, panic attacks, high or low blood pressure, the list goes on and on.

If this is an issue you need to see a Dr.

I'd be on my way to an ER

Be safe and sober too.

I had that. Just didn't realise they were panic attacks at the time.
If it worries, you get it checked out
