In pain and miserable
I'm having abdominal pain and I'm nauseated. I feel dizzy from all of the pain. I've had this before but when I went to the doctor all they wanted to do for me is throw pain scripts at me and that is not what I want. I want it to stop hurting.
I would go to the doctor but all they are going to do is try to give me more pain medicine and I still won't have the answers.
Please pray for me that this pain goes away. This is horrible. I feel so light-headed and dizzy right now.

Hi Hope,
When you go to the dr, tell him/her that you want to know what's causing the pain. Then, he will likely do some tests. You can turn down the pain killers. And, frankly, if I went to a dr with your symptoms and all he did was offer me pain killers, I'd look for another dr immediately.
I hope you feel better!

Hi Hope!
I know what you mean about the pain meds. I too was having horrible abdominal pain and nausea. I was having pain in my right side, right under my ribs that wrapped around to my back and went right up my shoulder. it got so bad it sent me to the emergency room. That's when my docs started paying serious attention to it. I ended up doing an upper GI and gastroentinitis testing but it was all negative. It turns out its gall bladder disease. When I was hurting, my gall bladder was spasiming (sp).
I was tired of hurting all the time too.
I agree sometimes its hard to get docs to do anything but issue pain meds. Maybe you should see another doc and let them know pain meds aren't what you need that you need to find out what is wrong with you. Be firm.
I hope you start to feel better soon.

Cheryl;
Please go to the ER. They will figure out whether it is an appendicitis, pancreatitis, an ulcer, or just exactly what it is.
Pain is a WARNING SIGN.
I also agree with the above, if I went to my doctor with pain, and all they did was offer pain killers, without trying to find the SOURCE OF THE PAIN, I would be long goneand have a new doctor quick.
Please get to the ER now!!!!
Love and hugs,

I think just being honest with any doctor you see about your
history of addiction will ensure safety in treatment.
I was fortunate to have a doctor in recovery when I miscarried
twins in 2000 and had a D and C...in fact he is in my HG...all I
got was a long acting shot and was sent home with Tylenol....I
suffered somewhat but he sure was not going to put me on any
narcotics!!
My best to you...

I wanted to check in to let everyone know that I am okay.
I took advice and went to the ER yesterday.
Actually, I just got home. I was there for a LONG time.
It was amazing.
I had a really great caring doctor who took the time to run all kinds of tests to figure out what was wrong. And he found it. I was in good hands.
Thanks so much for the support and prayers everyone.
I am still in pain right now and exhausted so I'm going to lay down. One thing the doctor told me was to get rest over the next few days.
And no working. lol.
Lots of love and hugs,
Cheryl

I would just like to tell all of you that you are all so awesome.
I came home from a long night at the ER and the messages of support uplifted me when I got home.
I couldn't ask for better friends.
It means a lot to know that I have people out there who truly care about me.

Hope4 I m very glad to hear you went to the eR. I am noyt in the medical proffesion, but it didnt sound right to me that your Dr. was trying to give you pain meds for abdominal pain and nausea.
Feel better soon and rest up!!

I'm with you on this one. When I had those symptoms the hospital refused to give me pain meds because they had to pinpoint the exact location of the pain first. It ended up being lymphnodes but they had to rule out the appendix.
