30 Days and Counting!
30 Days and Counting!
Hey All,
Got 30 days here today and feel pretty good. On Friday I will only have 4 more weeks in my cast for my broken foot. It's starting to get a bit frustrating but it keeps me from "crutching while drunk." I have been writing and storyboarding so much these past two weeks.
I wanted to thank all of you that have given me so much inspiration and motivation. Especially to those that said you need to keep focused on recovery and not just abstinence. So true. That is the reason I'm ontrackagain as opposed to ontrack.
Thanks and Best Wishes SR folks.

Now I look on it differently, as a good thing that happened, cos it got me to stay sober for nearly a month and I got to experience waking up refreshed and without a hangover - a whole new experience for this alkie!
Yeah it's horrible not being able to walk and feeling so vulnerable at times.
But on the plus side I got thinking about not taking stuff for granted, and also how lucky I was that I didn't injure myself worse, like break my neck or something.
I did drink a bit when I got my cast off, and then slipped back into constant drinking. Actually it got even worse than before. April and May are pretty much a blur and a wasteground.
I wasn't "ready" mentally to stay stopped so that's why I didn't.
But I'm doing ok now, nearly 2 weeks. So yeah, like I said the accident is something I look at now as something positive that needed to happen as a wake up call.
Anyway, I wish you a speedy recovery, you're over the worst now and you'll feel fantastic when the cast comes off.
And well done on the 30 days

Many Thanks
Thanks to All. It is so nice to see the same supportive people and to hear from new ones as well.
Sonas - My man from Ire LAN! Sorry to hear about your ankle. Fortunately I did not break my foot while drunk. I actually had almost 6 days sober when it happened. ???? I don't get it either. I'm glad you’re back and on the "bus" again. I know how frustrating and angry relapsing can be. Be well!
Rowan - Movies, writing and drawing are about all I can do now. But I promise me, and you, no stunts, kickboxing or soccer for a while. Thanks for your continued kindness and support.
Astro - sorry, won't do that. Thanks for your support.
I wish you all the best.
