Sooze's floodgates are open! Sorry!
Guys, I can't believe how relieved I feel just writing that one e-mail. To honestly admit I need help.
One of the things that has so impressed me about you all is your honesty and your loyalty to each other. I watched a bit of a drama take place with Stone and TeeJ and a couple of others. I was proud that the ladies did what they needed to do to keep their own sobriety okay -- but then again, I was SO amazed and proud to watch their forgiveness in action -- the way they made sure Stoney didn't walk around feeling bereft of forgiveness. You can't know what it's been like to observe these incredible acts of humanity. As a screenwriter, I could never have made this level of emotion up, without someone accusing me of being a poser.
I feel such a well of respect for people I don't even know.

Thats what makes this board so great in my opinion. The honesty and loyalty..and most of all the forgiveness.
This place has been my salvation and I have come out with alot of my personal business on this board and never once felt uncomfortable about it.
Glad you are here.

OOOOPs.... Except the gd crows in my 'hood have decided to haunt me!!!I'd like to think I'm all calm except these rotten bastards are screaming their heads off. Nature? You can have it!! It's getting light here, and I think I should just put an eye-mask on, and maybe some earplugs, to go to sleep.
I love you guys, thank you. I'll check in tomorrow, I swear, sober and ready.
love, Sooze

Hey Barb, thanks for reminding me that crows are messengers. Bloody-minded bastards that they are! When my husband died, my beautiful stepson got a tatoo of a murder of crows, black and fierce, running up and down his arm.
Sigh. Thank you.

my dad could talk to them.
He could 'caw' right at 'em, and they'd come from wherever to see him.
he knew what they were 'saying' to each other in the 'murder'.
he also taught me -
when you're out camping and fishing - leave the fish stuff that you clean out on a rock for the crows. they take less than a day to get used to you feeding them.
Then, for the rest of the time you're in camp in that place, they 'tell' you when anyone or anything (like bears and stuff) are getting near your camp.
cheaper than a watchdog!
LOL
thanks for that memory.
I did the 'watchdog' thing with my own kids when we'd go camp.
I called it 'hiring the crows'.
They'd follow us from one campsite to another.
theyknow who's feeding them.
it works!

Hi Sooze,
Welcome!
I think what you see around here is people honestly caring for each other. I have been through a lot of stuff with my addiction to alcohol and in the process I have stopped judging other people. That is a true blessing of sobriety.
