My LAST day 1
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site and I wanted to introduce myself. I'm on day 1 after too many attempts to count. I've realized I've had a problem for probably a year, but I don't think I was ever "done drinking." Now I really need to be. I moved to a new city several months ago, after graduating college, and I still don't have many friends here or a real career. A lot of the problems in my life right now are due to alcohol, including finances and weight. So today I'm saying that this is my Last Day 1.
I look forward to chatting and reading through these posts.

Hi Lily,
Welcome! I'm glad that you found us. Please make yourself comfortable, read the 'Sticky's' up top here and in the alcoholism forum next door - a lot of valuable information about alcoholism. Others will be along to say hello. I look forward to reading your posts.

Good for you that you're ready. You may have a college degree, but you're a lay person in recovery. Listen + learn, follow directions, go to mtgs., get a sponsor, admit you are powerless over alcohol and do what ya need to do with a plan of action. Wow day 1, fantastic

welcome Lily1
hi lily.....another new yorker! And welcome to SR...it's a great place to go to for information, support and understanding...You have to know that you need some kind of help through this, aside from coming here....Talk to someone,a doctor,a therapist,or join a group...I find the,"one on one" approach with my therapist works best for me...and she is in contact with my doctor as well,to coordinate with each other on the meds i take.
I look forward to hearing your story,Lily....stick around...you'll like it here...KT
