Thanks everyone, it really lifted my spirits to see all posts and support.
I am not improving as quickly as I had hoped but the sheer hell I was in the first few days has gone. Now I am just impatient to be well. I might not be up to a meeting tonight so if not I will go tomorrow.
I am still unsure of the whole ethos but it helped when those two AA guys came around, I realised talking to other alcoholics (sober ones lol) does help, and I am drowning and these people are throwing me a rope. I better grab hold.
I am getting some vitamins but still having trouble eating and drinking.
Still over-all doing better though!

Hey stone do you get Complan in the UK? I heard it's a drink and full off essential things to drink when you can't eat. Hope you'll regain your stregnth soon.

Those AA guys are taking me to a meeting tonight instead of tomorrow and then again on Tuesday (Monday is obviously awkward for them).
I am only just up to it physically but I am going tonight!

Hi wolfie, I actually went a got some orange lucozade.

I went to the meeting, was a bit too sick still really, I was a bit paranoid and sweating and shaking but it all seemed OK. I am going to another one on Tuesday too.
I intend going to as many as I can for now. The 2 AA guys who came to see me initially have taken me under their wing for now.

What's lucozade? Like Gatorade/ sports drink type of thing?

Wow... you really went! I'm proud of you stone. Sounds like it wasn't so bad after all. One day at a time eh ?

Hi everyone

Rowan-well we will see but as I said to a friend *I cant do it alone*

gypsy-yes they sound similar, I wish I had some now in fact! ODAAT

B2B-it is weird when these mundane things become so big cos we are struggling,

teej-thanks hun, you keep strong now!

Hope-thanks hun, good to see you and I am thinking of you too

Barb, well now I feel big-headed! lol (far fron it actually, but I do really appreciate all the support)

Liss, things are quite good today, it is 7pm and I just woke from some MUCH needed sleep.

General update lol....feeling much better, I am constantly giving myself pep-talks as now I have the mood swings etc. I have stuff to keep me busy and a meeting tomorrow.
Feel a bit weird but I am just going with things and not getting hung up on anything.

They are just that 'swings' they are finite and will pass whether its good bad or somewhere in between it all passes. What I used to do was stay close to other members and phone members, read a lot and go to meetings and work my program. I guess that is what I still do but these days my world is not rocked by the ups and downs, my sobriety stands on its own regardless of what else goes on. I got this by not using one day at a time and doing what was suggested.

These days I have hours and hours of contenment, not happiness just a feeling of being complete, not wanting anything.

Right now I want that for you Wildkatz.

what is contentment when I can't even view myself in a mirror, I just tried to do my hair and had to leave the bathroom........thats just not right....I just really wish I knew who I was right now at this given moment:sweat
