we have this stuff over here called 'emergen-c' it's electrolytes, potassium and all sorts of other healthy gick that keeps the motor running ... think there's anything like that (if not good ole gatorade) on yer side o' the pond?

Hey Stone,

Sorry mate I must have missed the post yesterday, though I was thinking about you. Glad you have progressed to rice, and remember loads of water. Though I have to say Ginger beer and that lucozade sport were what I consumed large quantities of in the 1st 3 days or so, and ate ginger nuts (the biscuits!) dipped in tea with sugar in it.....I am sure all these things are mega bad for you but hey if it stops the alcohol thing then it has to be more good than bad!!! Or thats my story!!!!

Keep going Stone you can do this mate.

I have just eaten a little bit of stew now, still on the mend. I will be going to an AA meeting tomorrow, I should be physically up to it by then. Must drink more water tho! Thanks for the reminder you two!

Thanks again wolfie, over the worst. It really was bad this time, I drank so much I went really insane and nasty and weird. I can't have that happening again. I have been tapering the last few days but as I felt significantly better today I threw the rest of the bottle down the drain! OMG! I have never done that before! So the tapering is finished, what a relief.

Believe it or not, but actually enjoying food is one of the many blessings God and AA have given me.

When I drank I didn't eat. Or, I'd just choke it down. And yeah, eating while going through de-tox was, umm, interesting, I couldn't hold water down the first two days...
