Thumbs up TOPIC: Would U Like To Share About Gratitude? Do U Have A Graditude List?

Hi Im Sharon and Im An Alcoholic.

By the Grace of my HP and people
like you here in SR I havent had
a drink of alcohol since 8-11-90.

For that and you I am truely
GRATEFUL.

I went to a meeting yesterday
and the topic was GRADITUDE.

As often as this topic pops up,
I never get tired of hearing
others share their own Experiences
Strengths and Hopes about it.

This was read to us...

My sponsor told me that I should
be a grateful alcoholic an always have "
an attitude of gratitude".

As a result of this guidance, I start
every morning on my knees, thanking
my HP for 3 things.... Im alive,
Im sober and Im a member of Alcoholics
Anonymous. Then I try to live an
"attitude of gratitude." and thoroughly
enjoy another 24 hours of the A.A.
way of life. A.A. is not something I
joined; it's something I live.

Thanks for letting me share.

Please feel free to share ur own
thoughts on gratitude or a list
you might have.

" a friend in need is a friend indeed" thats one of mine too.

Great thread aasharon.

I posted a thread last week asking people to quote something meaningful to them.

one special one which makes my day better and gives me inspiration was :-

" start living the life you've imagined" henry james and posted by rowan a fellow friend on this website.

Today, yesterday and tomorrow I am grateful that I have people I dont even know who can inspire, teach and help me lead a better life through their own experiences and the generosity they have in their hearts to share it.

Thanks you guys.

Always good to remember to be grateful - every night I write down 5 things I am grateful for. This is especially difficult when I'm depressed, but often rewarding. I can be grateful for the smallest of things, like seeing birds on my backyard feeders, or for the biggest of things, like my sobriety - and all of you here.

AASharon, thanks for the thread - I really appreciate how often you encourage others to participate by starting different threads like this one.

Sometimes it is a simple a being able to see and appreciate a beautiful sunset or sunrise......I always say to my Son "Way to go God!" I point out that there are miracles all around us everyday, we only need to see them for what they are!!!!!

My gratitude list grows everyday!!!!

Thanks guys...

How often have we've heard this saying....

Stop And Smell The Roses .....

In our time of numbness and insanity of
drinking and using who cared about those
roses...much less of anything else at the time....

Now that we have feeling back and a new
sight and prospective and appreciation
of things around us.....even the smallest
little things begin to have meaning to
us....appreciation for them....

Gratitude for the wonderful GIFTS provided
for us which could have easily been lost and
forgotten forever.

Stop along the way and admire the GIFTS
of Sobriety...Recovery.
