Angry I Need To Vent

For 3, 12 hour days, I have been helping my mother move. I am fine with this: My Mom is great....

Problem... I have a sister and a brother who were there helping for 2 hours; and the stuff my brother hauled was his own that she is willing to store for him, because he does not have much room where he is at. My sister helped for the full 2 hours mostly filling up her u-haul with things my mother was giving to her.

I dont want to sound awful, but I was there loading and unloading heavy boxes. I am not feeling resentment toward my mother; but I am so!!!**FF##@ at my siblings I could scream or drink, I really am close to drinking.

Oh another thing; first thing my sister did when she got to my Mom's was pour herself a glass of wine and set it literally under my fricken nose. AAAAAHHHHH. I was so tempted to drink out of it, but I didn't.

Now comes the unloading; my Mom moved out of a 6,000 sq ft house, (a lot of stuff)and I have the feeling it will be the same scenerio. I am afraid to say something to my siblings but shoud I ?

I am so glad I have you all to vent to

gee poor you.

but well done for keeping your cool,

If you can (without it being uncomfortable for you) you should maybe tell siblings, but don't do anything that makes you uncomfortable.

Please don't drink just because they have got too you, you have got through the worst of it ie being ther with all that going on. Well done you.

Stay strong.

Take care

hugs

Yeah ...vent vent vent I say.

In recovery we are no one's doormat!

Just because you are newly sober does not mean you are treated differently

or less than.

But one thing we learn quickly in sobriety is grace.

And, as Cyber shared...if it would cost you your sobreity in getting too upset

then...EZ Does IT!

In AA we learn Anger is O.K. appropriatley expressed and sometimes is

a part of being totally honest with ourselves and others.

It is better to confront a situation that is uncomfortable than to allow

anger to grow into resentments that WILL eventually lead to relapse.

You might talk to Mom....what does she want?

Just my opinion.

Love,

IO

Ay, the pouring of the glass under your nose had to be horrible! I'm sorry you had a stressful time of it all. Best of luck.

Every time I tell my sponsor how someone else is acting, he simply says "it's none of your business".

At first that used to really **** me off. But now I realize he's right. I worry about me. Remember, the Big Book says something along the lines of " Maybe others have the dubious luxury of having justifiable anger, but not us..."

You're doing the right thing, keeping your side of the street clean, helping your Mom. That's why you're there right ? To help your Mom ? Thought so
