Arrow Beautiful Morning

I woke up this morning on day 8 of sobriety and noticed something I havn't for awhile...

Although the birds always chirp; for the first time in a long time I heard them; I mean I really heard them and appreciated them. In addittion everything looks brighter and more beautiful. It kind of brings me back to when I was a child and everything was so fascinating and new.

Thrilled to be having such a delightful morning.

My morning began to get a little more difficult since my earlier post. I am now feeling anxious. Oh well at least I had a great hour or so.

I will be listening for those birds again tomorrow.

Glad you're feeling so chipper today. Relish it.

I feel really down this morning for some reason on day 13 of my recovery after a few okay days, but I sure do feel the same way about the hearing the birds singing, esp in the early morning hrs before sunrise.

I didn't hear them this am-- maybe that's my problem. I did, however, hear the sanitation engineers roaring through my neighborhood making all that racket...ah, the sweet sound...

Thanks and thanks. Your post inspired me to go out back with the dogs and listen to the House Wrens which are apparently nesting nearby and let the sun shine on me before it gets rainy/stormy later today.

I'll be okay. Just not in a good place at this moment. Yeah, that's it.

Tomutch the longer I have been sober the more I notice the beauty of the world around me, sobriety is truly a wonderful thing, to live life rather then exist it is a wonderful, not easy at first and there are still bumps in the road.

Toomuch,
I'm so happy for you. Things will be up and down... that's life. Isn't it wonderful to enjoy it, though, as opposed to being stuck in the the numbness of being drunk? Eight days... YAY!

That was beautiful. It is great to appreciate the things in life that were ignored before. It is like being reborn and the world is new to us again. We have greater appreciation and gratitude for life's small and big miracles.

When you don't hear the birds...be grateful you don't have to listen for sirens......

Really.

Love,

Too, when I sobered up two years ago my brother used to tell me that one day I'd enjoy sitting at an outdoor cafe, watching people, enjoying the weather, and listening to birds. My life was so gray at the time I didn't think I'd ever feel that way.

Guess what one of my favorite activities is these days? And I enjoy the coffee and tea too;-) I'm so happy to hear you were thrilled and delighted! Keep it up, one day at a time.
