First day (night) back on the job.
After a over a week of self detox, and following my Docs instructions for the Xanax taper off. It felt pretty good, and went better than I expected. No one knows why I was off work except for my boss, but it felt good to talk to others knowing that I didn't have alcohol on my breath. Even though I slipped a few times last week, I think I am doing fairly well with this, and I hope it just continues to get better. The withdrawal symptoms seem to be subsiding quite a bit.
I felt better and stronger. I was even hungry, and ate twice last night. I haven't eaten since last Thursday, so you can imagine how good it felt. I probably couldn't have done it without the help of some great people and posts on this board. Thanks all. |
