I found that lots of water and some planned activities with healthy people help.
My little sis had issues with coke, she needed to go to actual residential treatment to break it.
I can't relate from personal experience b/c I tried the stuff and just felt like I was wound up on toooooooo much coffee... couldn't for the life of me figure out why people were so crazy about the stuff.

You are doing a great thing by going to that meeting! Get lots of phone numbers.
Those numbers are a lifesaver when you start to get cravings.
Drink lots of water to flush out the toxins. Hang around sober people. Cut ties with people who are using or who do not respect your sobriety. That is a big threat.
Create a new routine. In those times when you used to use cocaine, find positive activities to replace it.
You may feel lethargic and tired for a few weeks but it gets better. Do not be discouraged. Your body is healing itself.
Glad that you are here! Welcome to day 1 and the beginning of a better life.

Hi Rabye,
Just wanted to welcome you - there is hope , and you are amongst people who understand what it's like to want to stop but feel helpless to do so.
Be willing to go to any lengths to get well - that's my advice, because that's what's worked for me. The others' here gave you some good advice on how to stay healthy while you go through this.
Please keep posting - we need you here.

Welcome to the greatest place on earth for support
from people wh have, or are going through what you are.
Good idea, a meeting, but, if that alone doesn't seem to work,
don't dispair, seek more help, treatment canter or something.
Hope3

Day one is very good. It can be a beginning on a new life, it can be all you want it to be. Keep going strong, and in those days when nothing seems to look good, remember: "this too shall pass".

rabye,
Good for you. You are making the right choice for a better life. Detoxing isn't fun, but once it's over, if you are committed to recovery, you never have to do it again and you can begin enjoying a new way of life. I think it's a REALLY smart idea for you to go to a meeting tomorrow. Keep going to meetings. Doing at least one a day sounds like a lot, but it's really helpful. Read the NA/AA literature when you'ere not at meetings. Constantly reminding myself of the principles of the program regularly throughout the day has brought me more sobriety than I ever thought possible. Take care of yourself as your body readjusts itself. You may be feeling exhausted or antsy/restless, not hungry or famished, thirsty or not, irritable or depressed... whatever you are feeling, take it easy and be patient with yourself. Very best wishes. Keep us posted.
