11 days sober and just came back from...
an AA meeting and after the meeting the chairperson comes up to me and says," You know pretty soon you're going to have to share"...and I said" It will come and I've shared at other meetings before, just not this one. I've only been to this meeting about 4 times and am newly sober. It really annoyed me and I thought to myself this guy is NOT my higher power and when I'm ready I'll share. I feel very under pressure now. Anyone else experience this?

I haven't been to a meeting yet (just became sober), but I intend to go. I'm a pretty quiet person, so I'm scared of that! I wish you luck in the future...hopefully, you're not forced into anything. =/

Denver, you don't have to say a word, ever, if that's what you choose. Not sure if this guy was well-meaning or what, but please don't feel pressured to share. No one can 'force' you to do anything in AA. Don't let this guy turn you off.

My understanding is from my viewpoint/thought process,here goes...
I do not believe anyone should be made to share,perhasp maybe introduce yourself as a formality/courtesy (to be part of),but no,if you do not feel the need or desire to share it should not be forced upon you.

The chairperson was most likely well meaning..............
You handled it already...just the right way..you stated your
circumstances and stood your ground. I think the chairperson
sensed your strength. Even now, I probably would have caved
in and said "O.K". People pleaser here.
However, you don't have to say a word. Ever. Kudo's on
how you handled it!
