Somebody recently posted about a fatty liver. I was diagnosed with one. Besides the health issues associated with it, does it actually cause you to gain weight? I haven't felt a change around my torso, but have gained about 20 pounds without changing eating habits.

It's always a good practice to consult a medical professional. Have you discontinued alcohol consumption? I initially lost about 30 Lbs when I quit drinking. And then I slowly started to normalize.

Are you still drinking? Did they tell you that a fatty liver will become cirrosis of the liver if you keep on drinking? You need to talk to your doctor about how quickly one can go from fatty liver to cirrosis of the liver.

I was diagnosed with a fatty liver and was told that as long as I did not drink it would reverse itself, but if I continued to drink it would become cirrosis of the liver which is permanent!!! It can also lead to death!!!

I had blood work done 90 days after I quit and all my liver functions were back to normal.

I quit drinking. My doctor ran tests and didn't find an immediate problem.
