In the day i got sober i flushed some stuff.It is a symbolic move to me. I have come to believe starting over means leaving no bad roots to grow back.

Ashlin welcome to SR. It doesnt matter what type of family you come from drug addiction doesnt discriminate it can pop up its ugly head no matter how much love you have recieved growing up. I am 46 and have suffered for a long time. It is EXCELLENT that you are addressing the problem now rather than continuing the path of destruction drugs will lead you on. Keep coming back. The people you find on this site are amzing and extermely helpful. I believe if I hadnt found my way here I would not be alive right now typing this message to you. It was a member here on SR that finally got me to get my Ass into rehab. They actually paid for a motel room for me when I was homeless just to insure my getting to rehab. i owe them my life. Hang in there it isnt easy, but things get better. Good luck to you!

Welcome Ashlin, What ever you do keep coming back here. There are so many peeps here to help you, and you in my opion are one of the lucky ones. You have discovered you may have a problem early in your life. When you so much more to live. Do not do what I did, and wait till you are as old as dirt to do some thing about it.
