Marijuana Addiction
Hi Guys
Ive been smoking marijuana for 5 years everyday in the morning,Lunch, after work."You know just to relax " I would go through two eights a week and a couple of days ago I just looked at where my life was going and figured out that it was going no where.I use to have a good paying job 80k a year,Lots of friends, Girlfriend. And now I have nothing I quite my job months ago then I went through two other jobs since December and I would always end up quiting my job.So two days ago I quite smoking pot and now I feel really down and really want to start again but I just keep telling myself that my life will only improve in the future but it's really hard.Im just wondering if anyone who has gone through this could share some info on how your life has improved since you have stopped using addictive substances?
Thanx
John

Hi John,
Welcome!
I expect you will have some mood issues to deal with as you go through early recovery. When I stopped drinking, I felt overwhelmed trying to deal with all the feelings that I had been ignoring. Just give your body a little time to adjust and also for your mind and spirit to adjust to your new life.

hey John pot addiction can cause people to be completely unfunctional. i was addicted to many things but the constant crutch in my life was pot. i smoked it everyday from age 15-25. psychologically its very difficult and causes many emotional problems (inability to cope, no motivation, depression, total dependence, etc). i am so much happier not having to live like that anymore. i cant smoke pot and function, its that simple. they have MA here in chicago but AA works too! its time to hit a meeting and get rolling!
