Hey guys - Day 1 here. This is my story:
I am 45 years old and grew up with drinking parents. I have been drinking since I was a kid and I drink beer everyday, from around 8 on weekdays to 15on a weekend. Its time to quit and yesterday was my last beer. I quit tabacco last summer using a on-line support group, so I thought this would be a good place to start.
Does anyone ever use the chat room?

Yes, this is a great place to start. I am new to SR myself but have found more kindness and support than I ever expected.

Welcome Beerman, glad you're here. I don't use the chat room, I just post on the forums during the day and hit an AA meeting every day. It works for me, you'll figure out what you need to stay sober.

i'm so glad you found us...welcome to sr and to day 1........you can do this.....read some of the stories here and you will find a lot of inspiration and hope.........we are making it every day...one day at a time and so can you....
