Telling your doctor?

Are there any repercussions from you medical records having that you admitted alcoholism?

like will insurrance companies charge you more in the future if you have to be self insurred... or will life insurrance folk have access to that and jack up your rate... or car insurrance people (I'm pretty sure Hippa laws protect you there...) ????

No...all medical records are confidential. Anyway, insurance companies usually will pay for treatment on some level. It is cheaper for them if you get beter, than if you continually get sick/hurt or worse.

I have never had a problem from medical records...
or none I am aware of.

I have gotten different jobs and canged doctors several times during sobriety. Also changed insurance companies.

I always say I am an alcoholic in AA recovery.

Take care
