There've been several threads like this in the past. Some that have filled a bunch of pages. And once we get sober/clean, it's amazing (Hey! There's a song about recovery -- "Amazing" by Aerosmith!) how many songs are either about recovery or could be applied to recovery -- or at least the hitting bottom that typically precedes a journey into recovery.

My absoulte favorite song about recovery is Peter Gabriel, "Solsbury Hill." Song just pumps me right up, and though he does sing about that hopeless state of mind & body, he talks hope, too:

"Today I don't need a replacement
I'll tell them what the smile on my face meant
My heart going boom boom boom
'Hey" I said 'You can keep my things,
they've come to take me home.'"

And speaking of "boom boom boom" -- I attempted to get into Trance early in recovery when I was looking for meditation music. It felt like my heart would synchronize with the bass line & I'd start having anxiety attacks. Wonder if I'm over that yet? lol...Maybe I'll get brave later & check out those links!

Peace & Love,
Sugah

Dont know if anyone has heard of Slightly Stoopid (not a spelling error there! ) There is a song called living in a righteous way. I saw them live with 3 sober friends an I was sober. It was one of the besttimes of my life. I dont know if the song is about being sober (I know for a fact the band is a bunch of partiers..met them) but When I hear the song it makes me think of sobriety and what a great time I can can have living in righteous way!
