Wow, thats great man. Take 'em any way you can get them. Every sober day is precious. I'm on day 7 myself.

I'm really jones'n for a beer right now though. This is my my first major craving since stopping. I'm heading out for an AA meeting and then I'm going to bed early. Only way I can think of to deal with it.

Congrats to you.

Andy,

Way to go man! Cograts on your progress. Reading your story I swear we could be twins (when it comes to past drinking habits). Thank you so much for providing updates on your progress. Your strength and discipline is infectious. Much gratitude

Depends on what you mean by doing it by yourself.
Can you do it without your wife supporting your choice? Yes but I think by what you have already posted, she is supporting you every step of the way.

I didn't know the right way or the best way to stop. I needed input from others that would go along with my desire and will to stop. Other then the support of input and understanding that I was given by others who had been in my shoes, I did it alone. Remove the support and info I was given and I may not even be here...it was needed because I didn't know the answers or the questions for that matter.
Doing it alone is a part of the journey... I needed to do what needed be done...no one else could do it for me.

Think on things this way... If you can lift 300 lbs all by yourself and there are 5 other people around willing to help...would it be wise to let them help?
Work smart, not hard.
Seek the support and gather info from any and all sources you can so the journey becomes a little easier. Meetings are a great place to gather info and support. The info and support will help you in all areas, not just the stopping intake of alcohol. Mind, body, and spirit will all find answers with such info.

Congratulations on your days collected.
Good start.

because of my surgery and having pain pills or what, but I'll take it. I just hope that once I'm off the pills, the urge wont come back again.
