"ACYPAA" / YPAA conventions & conferences

They're starting to make announcements at some meetings I attend about this year's ACYPAA ("All California") conference.

I went to ACYPAA last year. It was my first time attending anything like that, and I found the experience pretty disturbing. I felt sorry for the people who worked at the hotel where the thing was held, and certainly wasn't too proud to be associated with the group causing all of the chaos. The whole time, something I heard someone say at a meeting once kept running through my head:

"It's not 'old behavior' if you're still doing it."

Yes....not all sober people have manners
or act responsible.

Following the guidelines in the Steps
can implement wonderful changes.

Blessings..

Many of the principles outlined in the steps are abstract and counterintuitive to an extent that I think many people in the recovery community -- particularly "young people" -- find them bizarre, if indeed they even find them comprehensible.

I tell myself not to begrudge people their happiness, and that the people in question are for the most part doing the best they can to live with a higher degree of consciousness and awareness.
