Surprise!

This is my "alter ego"...since I'm no longer in Montclair, N.J...and, I hardly feel like a Jersey Girl now that I'm ensconced in Shorrock Gardens Nursing Home...thought I'd bring myself into the 21st Century!

I'm thinking I probably should have just changed my "identity" instead of re-registering...except, everytime I tried to log in, I had to actually log on. Oh, well.

Going off to play some on-line bridge.

Oh dear....rae in trouble already with SR........

Not to worry ......SR will take care of you rae.......hang in there....

Glad to have you thinking about yourself.....and in a good way to move on with your life...............we love you no matter what.....

As for me......the new range doing great and some getting used to.....too high tech for me and I have no choice other than to get used to it............NICE.......and doesn't heat up my whole kitchen so I am happy......can cook when the day is hot and not worry about being so hot inside................AND cookies take more than half the time to bake now..........SOOOOO Happy............I even have a timed bake setting....where I can bake a roast or something and just set the timer to shut off the oven when things are done...............Soooooo cool.........

Son John has four months clean and sober and transferred from the VA hospital in Bath, N.Y. to Lyons VA in New Jersey. It's good to have him closer to home.

Hmmmmn...I guess if I were looking for an excuse to drink, I could find one...even in this nursing home with about 200 patients (about 3/4 of whom are senile, in dementia, or having alzheimer's). Every week, someone is either dying, close to it, or falling out of bed and being rushed to the hospital...sometimes they even come back here. Although I'm pretty much confined to a wheelchair, I'm one of the few with all their mental faculties intact.

Would you believe, when we play poker a couple of times a week, they actually have Dooley's non-alcoholic beer to drink!?! Ain't no such animal, of course...it's actually 5%. I could have a nice cold Dooley's (even though I never liked beer), and con myself into thinking I was still clean and sober...who would know? The most important person...ME! Nope...no excuse is a good enough excuse...not for this alcoholic.
