Hi
I have been viewing this site for a few months, but this is my first post.
I am on day three right now - have been reading the BB on line, but
have not been to an entire AA meeting yet (finally got up the courage
to go through the door -- but ran away after nobody said hello).
I appreciate all of the ESH I have found on this forum - it has given
me the hope to take that first step..

Welcome chimineria! Glad you are here! I know what you mean about feeling nervous and/or uncomfortable about attending AA meetings. I try to go whenever I can--but I remember how scary it was the first time. Just hang around here awhile in the meantime. AA isn't really that bad either. There are many different AA groups where I live. If you didn't feel comfortable at the place you went, maybe try going to a different AA group instead. I'm sure there will be people willing to help you. Again, welcome to Sober Recovery!
Hello everyone!
Thanks so much for the replies -I am glad I finally reached out.
I am looking forward to sharing the journey.
You are right PG1968 - these first few days do kinda suck,
guess we just have to move forward and believe folks when
they tell us it gets better. I know I don't like the alternative ...

Welcome!! I walked out of my first meeting also. I finally found the courage to make it to another one and heard a really good share. No one said hi to me either, so i know that feeling. It took a few meetings before I raised my hand as a newcomer, but found once I did, that's when women came over to say hello and give me their number.
I hope you keep coming back to this board and meetings! You will find a lot of very kind people here that have a lot of ESH.

Good Job on the start of your adventure! I visited this site for weeks and read many posting before the light bulb finally went on. I have never had the courage to even find a AA meeting. Good Luck and thanks for posting. I am working on day 8 and made it throught the really first weekend.
