Can't do it alone
Hi everyone,
Am sitting in my truck in the oilfields of east Texas and ran across this site.
I am working 500 mi from home and can't get rid of that empty feeling. I have 9 mo "of sobriety" (I hate that phrase) I have attended meetings when I can, and thank God everyday for what He has done for me.

You have been sober 8 1/2 months longer than me. This site has been a life saver for me. Many, many good people here. We are all in the same boat...
I think all of us have that empty feeling every once in a while. I think we all need our down days to really appriciate our up days...
Stick around and meet people here. Its really one big family...
One day at a time.
Steve
Hi Winterwind,
Good to meet you. Congrats on the nine months. As Steve says, SR is one big supportive family. The people I've met here are so amazingly supportive. There is no need to do it alone, that's why SR is here.

Winterwind, keep thanking God and you'll be amazed at what he'll do for you.
I'm 21 months sober, and it took a long time for that empty feeling to go away, but when it finally did my life became richer than I ever dreamed of. That's pretty amazing considering I didn't have much faith in any God, and that I gave away my marriage, family, and home because of alcoholism.
Stick around here and you'll make some great friends. Heck, I only registered here two weeks ago and I feel so welcome already!

Notice:
I have had a couple of PM's from people saying that their posts are going awry. I am not able to answer PM's today and when I do, they go back to the person blank. And, I can't start a new thread, which is why I'm posting here. We are having technical problems today and hope that they will be fixed soon. Please be patient.

Looks like things are back to "normal"...ahhhh, this computerized age. What did we ever do without it!?! Went to meetings, that's what! But, this is a great alternative for people like me who can no longer get to regular meetings.
