The urge to go out and get high is so bad.All i have to do is make a phone call,so to solve that problem i threw the phone out.I havent slept in 4 days.I cant eat or sleep.I have no body to talk to,My family wants nothing to do with me,My wife left me and all my so called friends are druggies.I live far from any group support.It just seems so easy to end the pain.

Hey Brad... Im new to recovery too. Withdrawls are horrible, but the pain on drugs is worse. Look around and see what the drugs actually got you. After they are through, you willl start to get you old self back which to me is a high in itself... hang in there guy, if you need anything, everyone on here is so amazingly helpful. Dont keep all the thoughts inside, make sure you try and vent it out... otherwise those thoughts are what will get you back out using. Be tough.... i KNOW yyou can do it. Stef

Yeah we are all here for you... so just keep thinking positive. It helps to distract yourself, I've started painting again and it totally takes my mind off things, its like meditation to me. Start achieving small little goals for yourself and slowly get through them...think of things you enjoy doing besides drugs/alcohol and make that your drug.
I bought a bicycle yesterday and started cycling. Just being out in the open air makes me feel like there's another world out there.

Brad, you most definatly are NOT ALONE! Yeah you may not be close to any NA meetings but i believe there is a section on here with the 12 step program. Also many of us, including me.... regularly go to meetings and can help with your meeting problem. Brad you cant give up on yourself... I have many times and found myself back in a gutter worse than the one before because i was so addicted again. Keep your mind busy..... come online, write in the forums... play some games. Anything that can help to free your mind. Sharing on here helps a lot too, and at least then you have some people who believe in you and want to help. I hope to hear from you soon Stef

Ok i finally got some much needed sleep.I have to go to work(logging camp)So i wont be back online till friday night some time.Thanks alot people,Its a great feeling to know that total strangers do care.Talk to you all on friday night.
