I am a new member. The question I have concerns my wife's abuse of her fentanyl patchs she gets from her pain doctor. She is a good candidate for this medication as she has chronic disc disease and three lower back surgeries in the past six years. She is on SS disability and does not work outside the home.
Besides her erratic behavior, constanly running short on her patches prior to refill time, I found a very suspicious peice of evidence that I need your input on.
While cleaning our bedroom, I found a cut out portion of the patch along with the portion it was cut out of. Is this a way to remove the contents?
Some items that have happened most recently was a potential OD of amitryptyline 10 days into withdrawl after shorting on her patches by two weeks. She admits she is addicted but claims her pain is not managed properly therefore she is desperate for relief. Her current script is to wear a 100 and a 75 together, changing them every two days.
My hunch is that she is using the patches to control her pain and abuse it when she can get away with it.
She does not allow me to go to her refill appoinments and I am not even on her Hipaa form so I cannot speak to her doctor. The limited info she decides to let me in on is that next week her pain doctor is may cut her off and suggested she go to rehab.
