~ New Here ~

Hi everyone,

My name is Hazel…I’m an addict/alcoholic. I also have issues with self-harm and depression, which are all tied in with one another in some way(s). The date in my signature is my c&s date ~ as you can see; it’s not that long ago. BUT…it’s 26 more days than I’ve had in the last five years.

As we all sail life’s ocean together, I’m here to offer my support where I can, to those in similar boats to myself…and also, to ask for help and guidance from those who’ve been in similar boats to mine.

I’m not going to make the mistake of saying “this is it”…or “this time it’ll be different”. I’ve said all those things time and time again ~ to others and to myself. I run out fingers when I try to count the number of times I’ve tried to beat this. But I will say that I’m optimistic, determined…and I’m ready to give it my all.

Thanks for having me here…I hope to get to know you all a little better!

Hazel.

Welcome to SR Hazel.

Seems you are learning some important lessons.
“this is it”…or “this time it’ll be different”.
Replaced with...Today I won't ... sure has helped many.

I run out fingers
and for those who run out of fingers that keep trying...they are the ones who find answers.
If counting is important...you can borrow my fingers *LOL*

You are showing that you have learned much. I believe you will do well.

Congratulations on your collected days thus far. Good job.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, guys...

And thanks for the encouragement ~ it means the world to me! I've learned too many times (the hard way) that I can't do this alone...need all the support I can get.

Another perspective always helps, and the kindness and love I've already seen here will no doubt help, too.

I wish you all the very best as we walk this road to recovery together.

Thank you again,
Hazel

We are open 24 hours a day. At just about any hour you may find support here if needed. If not within a minute...as people show, they will reply.

So glad having you about.

((((((Best))))))

Thanks, love! "Today I wont..." is working well so far...day 27.

It's so nice to actually feel like I belong somewhere for once. I'm sure many newcomers have the same feeling (?)
I know that, personally, I've never joined such a caring, loving community in my life.

You guys...you just warm my heart.

Thank you so much. You help me to believe in myself, when at times, that has been the first thing to go.

Sometimes "thank you" never seems enough...

Oh, I agree with you, Hazel--it is nice to "belong" somewhere, isn't it? I'm so glad to have found folks here who understand what it's like to think the way I do--like an alcoholic. And it's wonderful to have such support to help us stay sober.
